Get the Details on How WhatsApp is Enhancing Channels with the Addition of a Polling Feature
2023 was a big year for WhatsApp as users were offered a lot of new features. One of the new features is Channels, which allows content creators to share photos, videos, text and links to their followers in a one-way broadcast. However, one key thing missing from the Channels feature until now was the ability to include polls.
Now, WhatsApp is testing the ability to create polls in channels as part of the latest WhatsApp for iOS beta update, version 24.1.10.76, as reported by WABetaInfo.
It’s worth noting that this feature was rolled out to Android beta testers last week. This addition makes it easier for channel owners and admins to gauge interest in a particular item, gather feedback, and interact more intuitively with the channel feed.
To see if you have the feature, open your channel’s chat attachment menu. WhatsApp also allows you to limit polls to a single choice by disabling the multiple answer option.
In addition, the voting process is anonymous, and channel creators cannot identify who has voted for a specific category or condition, ensuring the confidentiality of votes. This creates a carefree space for channel followers to express their opinion and vote for a particular topic without worry.
The feature is widely available and has already started rolling out to WhatsApp beta users on both iOS and Android devices. A stable version containing the feature for all users may be released soon.
In other news, WhatsApp users can create their own stickers – all within the app. This feature allows you to edit existing stickers by selecting the “Edit Sticker” function. You can also create stickers from your photos. In addition, users can remove the background of an image without third-party tools or native iOS and Android features. This feature was spotted in WhatsApp Beta for iOS 24.1.10.72 and is currently only available to limited beta testers.
