Microsoft Copilot for Security will be released to the public on April 1st; Explore its latest features
Microsoft has revealed that its AI solution for security professionals, Microsoft Copilot, will soon be accessible worldwide. Over the past few months, the company has been integrating AI into its range of products, consolidating its AI services under the Microsoft Copilot umbrella. This includes its AI chatbot, which is competing with ChatGPT and Google Bard. In a recent update, Microsoft has launched Copilot for Security, a new service now open to the public.
What is Microsoft Copilot for Security?
Microsoft Copilot for Security is an artificial intelligence service that enables cybersecurity professionals to quickly respond to online threats and conduct risk assessments in minutes. It uses Large Language Models (LLM) provided by OpenAI and combines them with large-scale data and threat intelligence, which includes the 78 trillion security signals that Microsoft processes every day.
In a new development, Microsoft has announced that Copilot for Security will be publicly available starting April 1st. Users can write prompts in 8 languages, while it has a multilingual interface that supports up to 25 languages. Microsoft says it’s available for use in North and South America, Europe and Asia.
Vasu Jakkal, CVP of Microsoft Security, posted on X: “Last year we launched @Microsoft Copilot for Security, the industry’s first gen AI solution that helps security and IT professionals defend the machine at speed and scale. Today I’m delighted to let you know that Copilot will be generally available starting April 1st!”
In order to make it available to everyone, Microsoft also brings a pay-as-you-use license model that enables consumption-based subscription. This means that professionals only need to pay for the amount of services they consume during a certain period of time.
Copilot for Security will have new features
Along with its public release, Microsoft also said that it will include several new features. This includes:
1. Custom Prompt Books – This feature allows users to create and save their own natural language prompts instead of relying on preset prompts.
2. Database Integrations – While this feature is in preview, users will be able to integrate their business logic with Copilot for Security, allowing them to perform tasks based on their own guides.
3. Third Party Integration – As the name suggests, Copilot for Security allows users to integrate third party solutions that are being developed around the world.
4. Multilingual Support – Microsoft Copilot for Security accepts prompts in 8 languages, while its user interface supports up to 25 languages.
5. Microsoft Entra Audit Logs and Diagnostic Logs – This feature allows users to perform IT analysis and audit log investigation, even if related to a specific case or user. In addition, this analysis is summarized in natural language.
6. Defender External Attack Surface Management – Defender EASM allows users to map their digital attack surface and associated external risks. Then they can analyze the corresponding updated data.
7. Usage Reporting – Usage reporting gives teams insight into Copilot for Security usage and potential actions they can take to optimize it.
All of these features in Microsoft Copilot for Security aim to further strengthen the measures that cybersecurity professionals use to keep users safe around the world.
