New Users Can Take Advantage of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate $1 Offer Again
Microsoft is considering increasing the cost of Xbox subscriptions in many countries, but it is introducing an enticing offer for new users. The company is reintroducing a promotion that allows individuals to enjoy the first month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for just $1. Additionally, the PC Game Pass is also available at a discounted rate of $1. Although the regular monthly fees will apply thereafter ($17 for Ultimate on console, $11 for PC), the initial price reduction enables users to explore the services without fully committing.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate lists “hundreds” of games that you can play on console, PC and through cloud gaming. First-party games arrive immediately after launch, and there are members-only benefits that include discounts, an in-game add-on, and a handful of EA games. PC Game Pass doesn’t include streaming or the EA lineup, but is otherwise similar.
This comes just weeks after Microsoft raised the price of Game Pass Ultimate for new subscribers from $15 to $17. It’s the first time the price has gone up since Ultimate debuted in 2017. Microsoft attributes the increase to changing “competitive conditions,” but it’s also a reflection of an evolving strategy. Both Microsoft and its rival Sony are increasingly dependent on subscriptions for their revenue, and the Game Pass Ultimate hike could help with that.
