Nothing Phone (1) Android 13 update coming with new features: All details
Nothing has moved forward with the official Android 13 update for its smartphone this week. The company has been conducting closed-door tests with beta users for a few weeks, and now the stable version is coming to everyone. Android 13-based Nothing OS 1.5 promises a bunch of performance improvements and some new features that should keep Nothing Phone (1) owners excited. Carl Pei, the founder, Nothing has talked about keeping the software of his device as a primary focus, and this update more or less confirms those claims.

Application improvements
– New Nothing weather app.
– Refined camera app user interface.
– Up to 50% increase in application download speed.
Customization
– New Glyph sound pack. More Glyph ringtones and notification sounds.
– More “Material You” meaning more colorways available with the third
party apps as wallpaper.
– Lock screen shortcut customization. Create shortcuts for your camera, flashlight or device
controls and wallet.
A better experience
– Switch data transfer easily when using two SIM cards with improved network quick settings
panel.
– New QR code reader in Quick settings and camera app.
– Multilingual support that enables different languages for different applications.
– Clipboard preview. The copied text appears on the clipboard in the bottom corner
display. So you can edit the text directly before pasting.
– Frontline services. Close active background apps directly from the notification
center to save battery.
Visual improvements
– New look of media management. Bring the album artwork to the full screen with a wider set
music controls.
– Improved volume control. Adjust individual volume sliders easily without unlocking
display (i.e. music and ringtone).
– Fewer annoying notifications in game mode. Now on Google Game Dashboard.
Dashboard supports screenshots, screen recording, FPS display and Do Not Disturb.
– Live subtitles: recognize speech on your device and create subtitles automatically.
– Smoother animations when moving the screen on and off.
Privacy updates
– Photo selector: Choose which photos you want to share with each app.
– Media permissions: Group the types of media you want to share, such as photos and
videos, music and audio files.
– Alerts when the application uses the clipboard. Then cleared history after some time
time to prevent unwanted access.
– Added Personal Safety application.
System performance
– Added background memory. Reduces the waiting time for frequently used applications to load.
– New self-repair feature that keeps the phone (1) running like new. By emptying
unused cache and outdated system backups.
