OnePlus Pad to Include Feature From OnePlus Open Foldable Phone
Chinese tech giant OnePlus recently launched its first foldable smartphone – the OnePlus Open with some interesting features and specifications. One notable feature is “Open Canvas”, which allows users to handle split-screen multitasking with a foldable, allowing up to four application windows to be displayed on the screen at the same time.
Now, a new report has revealed that OnePlus plans to bring this feature to its first tablet, the OnePlus Pad, which was launched earlier this year. Open Canvas is expected to offer an improved multitasking experience on the OnePlus Pad’s 11.61-inch screen.
During a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) session, the Chinese tech giant confirmed the upcoming introduction of the Open Canvas feature on the OnePlus Pad. While no exact timeline was given, the company expressed its commitment to the idea, stating, “We’ve had multiple requests to bring the incredibly intuitive Open Canvas to the OnePlus Pad, and here’s the good news – it’s in the works! Stay tuned.”
This revelation was originally brought to light by tipster OneNormalUsername. Thanks to the tablet’s large 11.61-inch screen, this development allows OnePlus Pad users to run multiple apps simultaneously on their screen. The Open Canvas feature enables multi-window functionality. It features a desktop-like taskbar near the bottom of the extended main screen, allowing easy access to recent and preset apps.
The OnePlus Pad has a massive 11.61-inch 144Hz Read-Fit display with a 7:5 aspect ratio and a 144Hz refresh rate. The tablet has a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset with a Cortex-X2 core clocked up to 3.05 GHz. The OnePlus Pad runs on OxygenOS, which is based on the Android 13 operating system. It also has a large, long-lasting 9510 mAh battery that allows for long uninterrupted use.
Additionally, the OnePlus Pad has a 13-megapixel primary rear camera equipped with an LED flash for taking photos. For selfies and video calls, it has an 8-megapixel front camera.
