Smartphones That Will Lose WhatsApp Support Before October’s End: See the List Here

WhatsApp will stop working on several smartphones after a week, which means people will either have to stop using the messaging app or get a new smartphone immediately. We recently discussed this development, and as the deadline approaches, we’ll update this piece again and inform people who may still be using older Android phones.

The date when WhatsApp will stop working on old phones is October 24th, and these are mostly linked to devices that are still running Android 4.1 or even older. Among the well-known brands in the list are phones from Samsung, HTC, Sony and Motorola.

These phones will lose WhatsApp support in October

Samsung Galaxy S2

– HTC One

– Sony Xperia Z

– LG Optimus G Pro

– HTC Sensation

– Samsung Galaxy S

– HTC Desire HD

Motorola Xoom

– Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

– Nexus 7

The list includes notable devices such as the Galaxy S2, which was a solid premium product at the time. Even the HTC One had a strong history and did well in the market.

You’ll also notice names like the Nexus 7, which is a tablet, and even the Motorola Xoom and Sony Xperia Z. These phones will lose WhatsApp support as the messaging app has now evolved with features that no longer work on these devices.

Also, they do not receive security updates from Google in any form, so there is a high possibility that WhatsApp security issues will cause bigger problems for the company and its users. It is in everyone’s best interest to stop supporting WhatsApp on these phones/tablets and force them to upgrade to phones running at least Android 12 or higher.

We are now talking about WhatsApp, owned by Meta (formerly Facebook), which will soon offer AI-centric features such as creating stickers, photos or even answering polls. This is the version of WhatsApp that people use today, and for that you need powerful hardware and a secure operating system to keep them running without any crashes.
