You’ll also notice names like the Nexus 7, which is a tablet, and even the Motorola Xoom and Sony Xperia Z. These phones will lose WhatsApp support as the messaging app has now evolved with features that no longer work on these devices.

Also, they do not receive security updates from Google in any form, so there is a high possibility that WhatsApp security issues will cause bigger problems for the company and its users. It is in everyone’s best interest to stop supporting WhatsApp on these phones/tablets and force them to upgrade to phones running at least Android 12 or higher.
