YouTube Music allows you to automatically download recently played songs on Android
YouTube, the popular online video sharing and social media platform owned by Google, is reportedly working on a major new update. According to a new report, the YouTube Music app will soon allow auto-downloading of recently played songs on Android.
According to 9to5Google, the new “recently played songs” toggle can be found under Settings > Downloads & Storage for those with a Premium subscription. The new update allows users to download up to 200 recently played songs. Users may also find this feature already available. According to the report, they are in use on their devices.
It’s also independent of the existing “smart download” feature, which includes up to 500 songs and is based on music the app considers “favorites”.
According to the report, the recently played song setting for YouTube Music on iOS has yet to be announced. The company also confirmed the addition of Live, Cover and Remix tags under Other Performances in the Now Playing app’s Related tab and search results.
YouTube also publishes song and album credits on its music streaming service, YouTube Music. This new feature will allow users to see the authors of songs and albums while listening to their favorite music, reports 9To5Google.
The feature, where users can instantly see detailed song information, such as the singer and the writer, producer and composer of each song, has long been a part of many other streaming services, such as Tidal. If the feature is enabled on users’ accounts, they will see a “Show Lyrics” option when accessing the YouTube Music overflow menu.
According to the report, users can see information about the music, such as the song’s artist, writer, producer and music metadata.
