WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging platform owned by Meta, is reportedly working on a new feature on channels. According to a new report, the messaging app will soon allow channel admins to share pools, polls as an additional tool to interact with their audience.

“Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.24.12 update available on the Google Play Store, we noticed that WhatsApp tends to share polls across channels,” WABetaInfo reported.

According to the report, in a future update of the application, it will be possible to create and share polls in channels. These channel polls also include the ability to limit responses to a single choice, mirroring the feature found in your chats and groups.

The report also revealed that the Poll Voices feature is always protected to increase privacy. This means that when you participate in a channel survey, your phone number will always remain hidden and will not be revealed to the channel owner or other followers.

It suggested that bringing a poll feature to channels can be very useful as it is the best tool for gathering feedback from channel followers.

“We believe that polls can often encourage more active interaction compared to simple emoji reactions. We believe that this feature will definitely help channel owners to gather valuable insights about their audience, and Channel Followers will feel connected to the entire community,” WABetaInfo said.

The feature to share polls across channels is under development and will be available in a future update of the app. The Meta-owned instant messaging platform is also rolling out a new security feature to protect your account. There is a new section called “Email Address” that allows users to associate an email address with their WhatsApp account for added security.
