Say Goodbye to Siri: Apple Closes the Door on Apple Music Service

Apple’s latest tryst with the Siri voice assistant has ended two years after its launch. Back in October 2021, the company announced a special Siri voice offer for Apple Music users, and it’s now being shut down, probably because people didn’t really want to spend $5 (roughly Rs. 413) on this special plan.

It was recently noticed that the Apple Music Voice plan is no longer listed on the Apple Music subscription page, which more or less confirms its disappearance. In fact, Apple has created a support page to inform Voice Plan subscribers of the change and what they need to do to continue using Apple Music after November, which is already underway.

Those who paid for the audio package can continue to use it until their subscription ends, but after that they have to pay for regular Apple Music contracts.

Apple says it prefers to focus on other features of Apple Music, such as surround sound, Karaoke with lyrics and discoveries. The company wants to make Siri a universal part of all Apple Music plans from now on, and promises to keep improving the experience.

What is the talk plan for Apple Music users that is now ending? Apple basically used this plan to help Siri get more mileage and airtime, allowing people to access music, playlists, and albums on Apple Music with just their voice.

However, Apple couldn’t add other popular features like lossless audio quality, offline listening support and more, which may also have contributed to its downfall when you’re charged $5 per month. The audio plan was also limited to select markets like the US and Indians never got a chance to try it and will never get it again.

However, the company does not have to worry about this move, as iPhone sales continue to accumulate billions in the company’s account. India is also becoming a vital cog in Apple’s overall growth, mainly due to sales and demand for older iPhone models.
