iQOO Unveils Funtouch OS 14 with Android 14 in India: What’s New and Compatible Devices

Chinese smartphone brand iQOO has released Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14 for the iQOO 11 smartphone. The latest OS update will be available for other iQOO smartphones later this year or early next year.

According to the company, the new Funtouch OS 14 focuses on improving memory management, multitasking features, personalization, privacy and security, and offers new video editing tools.

Features of Funtouch OS 14

Funtouch OS 14 brings the Smooth Envision approach that makes the user experience smoother inside and out. It improves system performance, responsiveness and the ability to keep multiple applications active at the same time. This improved RAM Saver feature adds up to 600MB of free RAM space to devices with a RAM configuration of 8GB or more.

Funtouch OS 14 allows users to keep up to 12 small windows active in the background, and the OS supports side-swiping, giving users more control.

Funtouch OS 14 also brings a bunch of new personalization options. Users can now customize the clock style on the lock screen and choose from three clock layout styles and eight font styles. It also comes with an always-on mode.

“Based on the Material You design, the new monochromatic theme, called MY color palette, is simple and elegant and offers a versatile range of colors. In addition, this feature contributes to power saving by optimizing the display for grayscale visuals,” the company said.

The latest OS update also offers enhanced video editing capabilities, making it easier for users to create unique and engaging content without relying on third-party apps. Users can now export videos in their original quality, which supports lossless export. Customizable video quality settings, including resolutions up to 4K and 60 FPS.

Certain smartphone models have the Motion Blur feature, which uses advanced algorithms to blur motion when opening and closing apps on the home screen. This improves the smoothness of screens with a refresh rate of 60 Hz by 18.7 percent

Funtouch OS 14 also offers a Smart Mirroring feature that allows users to seamlessly share their screens without the notification bar popping up and accidentally revealing personal information.
