Here’s What Occurred: Instagram Users Express Frustration Over ‘No Audio’ Problem in Older Videos
If you’ve been using Instagram for many years, it seems that there has been a problem with the videos you’ve been uploading to the platform all this time. Many users seem to have noticed that old videos have no sound when playing them, in fact they also get a pop-up message saying that the video has no sound.
The issue seems to have affected videos uploaded in 2014, and we’re not sure what has caused people to experience this lack of sound. But the good thing is that Meta is aware of the problem and is said to be fixing it. However, the company doesn’t have a timetable for fixing this, but we’re hoping it will be done in the coming weeks, if not months.
Instagram has supported video for years, and many of its users feel that the absence of audio from visuals is a loss of their data, and keeping it on Instagram was to preserve content and quality.
So what happens until Instagram fixes the problem? It seems that videos only lose sound when you play it directly in the app. An embed link to some content/file could be the best way to play the video in its full avatar and allow people to enjoy the visual without losing its meaning. In the meantime, we hope that the problem can be fixed as soon as possible.
Instagram is a key part of Meta’s growth these days, especially as interest in Facebook is slowly but surely waning. Instagram is also useful for the business to help it cross-link with other apps like Instagram and even WhatsApp.
Some of the new features of Meta apps are borrowed from each other. But Instagram will soon lose its link to Messenger because people won’t be able to use Facebook credentials to chat with friends and other known contacts.
