PlayStation Showcase all the major announcements: Spider-Man 2 game, new handheld and more
Sony’s PlayStation Showcase, which took place after a period of nearly 600 days, has finally come to an end, lasting over an hour and ten minutes – with new announcements, the revival of Bungie’s Marathon, the progress of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and even hardware announcements. including a new handheld remote playback device called Project Q and a new wireless PlayStation headset for PS5 and PC.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 game
We finally got our first look at Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Sony did it justice by showing over 10 minutes of action-packed footage featuring both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. We also got to see Spider-Man’s venom powers and our first look at Kraven the Hunter.
The game ended with both Peter and Miles chasing the Lizard in a high-speed chase. We also got a glimpse of Peter Parker’s Symbiote-driven aggression, foreshadowing the battle between Peter and Miles. The release date is not yet known, but according to Sony, the game will be released in the fall of 2023.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
As we – and other industry experts – had predicted, Sony finally surprised everyone with a CGI teaser for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, which is likely a remake of the classic PlayStation 2 game Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. . We are very excited about the game, but the release date or release window is not yet known. However, the game is going multi-platform and will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Marathon of Bungies
After Sony bought Bungie for $3.6 billion, the company was expected to focus more on live services and try to move into multiplayer, and it seems that the return to Marathon, a sci-fi PvP pick-me-up shooter, means the same. Sony says Marathon is currently in development for PlayStation 5 and PC, and will include cross-play and cross-save functionality. Furthermore, it is claimed that the game is not a remake of the 1994 classic, but “something new”.
PlayStation VR 2 games
It’s just been a couple of months since PS VR 2 was released, and more games are already being released for the system. During the show, Sony revealed that a VR mode is in development for the recently released Resident Evil 4, and we also saw titles like Crossfire: Sierra Squad and Meta’s Beat Saber.
New hardware: PlayStation Project Q and new wireless headphones
The gaming community was buzzing about Sony releasing a new portable system, and in a way, the rumors proved true when Sony unveiled the Project Q – an 8-inch handheld remote for the PS5 that works over Wi-Fi. -Fi and allows users to stream installed games in 1080P resolution at up to 60 frames per second. Known internally as “Project Q” (may not be a retail name), it retains all the original features of the Sony DualSense controller, including adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.
