Unlock the Fun with YouTube Playables – Discover 30+ Mini-Games Now!
YouTube made an announcement in September 2023 about its new Playables segment, which marked its return to the gaming industry after discontinuing its Stadia gaming service in January 2023. After a two-month testing period with a limited group, YouTube Playables has now been officially launched, offering over 30 mini-games or arcade-like games. Premium subscribers can enjoy titles such as Angry Birds Showdown, Brain Out, Daily Solitaire, The Daily Crossword, and others.
Droidlife reports that a notification alerting Premium users that the feature is coming to YouTube was sent last week. The announcement encouraged users to try it out by enabling the feature. After enabling the features, Premium users will see a separate section called YouTube Playables in the Explore tab of YouTube. When tapped, Playables takes users to a separate screen, which is the home tab of the Playables app. There is also another ‘browse’ tab next to it.
YouTube Playables debuts for Premium subscribers
YouTube Playables currently has a total of 37 minigames, mostly arcade-themed. These games can be played without installing or downloading anything live from the YouTube app. So users can simply go to the home page of its latest game feature and start playing it by clicking on the title. The game also saves and saves progress, so users don’t have to start over every time they close the app.
As mentioned above, some interesting titles include Angry Birds Showdown, Brain Out, Daily Solitaire, The Daily Crossword, 8 Ball Billiards Classic and others. The theme is clearly arcade. No story-based games or games with animations have been added so far. However, games are the most popular games on Android at some point.
It should be noted that the feature is part of YouTube’s experimental features, so it comes with a deadline. The feature is available for Premium users until March 28, 2024. After that, based on the answer, YouTube will decide whether the game will be published or not. Even when the game is released, the streaming platform may make changes to it and it may look different.
