Alert Slider Gets A Makeover – Check Out OnePlus 12’s ‘Nature Inspired’ Colours!

OnePlus has officially released a teaser video for the OnePlus 12, its upcoming flagship phone that will follow the OnePlus 11. The trailer gives us our first look at the phone in its new green color inspired by nature. The BBK-owned company has also released a set of official images on Weibo, showing us the white and black models as well.

Although the device looks quite similar to the outgoing OnePlus 11, a closer look reveals that OnePlus’ iconic feature – Alert Slide – has changed position. It is now located on the left side of the device instead of the right. For the uninitiated, the alert slider allows you to quickly switch between ring, silent and vibrate modes. OnePlus has also explained why this change happened: “Based on internal testing, it has been determined that the optimal placement of the gaming antennas is between the user’s index fingers when the phone is held horizontally,” the company notes.

As for the color scheme, the new green background has a pattern that would resemble forests, nature and landscapes – and it is also used by OnePlus in its marketing. “Inspired by nature,” OnePlus calls it.

The white looks almost pearly, and from the rendering it reminds us of the white titanium surface offered by Apple for the iPhone 15 Pro. The black, on the other hand, looks like the same old OnePlus we know – with a sandstone-like finish. You can watch the teaser here.

It has also been confirmed that the device would have a 50-megapixel main camera and a 64-megapixel 3X periscope telephoto lens. As for the chipset, the device gets the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

In addition, the OnePlus 12 has a QHD+ (1,440 x 3,168) AMOLED screen manufactured by BOE. It supports a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, making it brighter than some recent flagships, including the iPhone 15 Pro (2,000 nits) and the Pixel 8 Pro (2,400 nits). In addition, the screen has received an A+ rating from DisplayMate. This panel is called “X1 Oriental Screen”.

OnePlus India also updated a picture of the OnePlus 12 and the aforementioned trailer on its website yesterday. This means that the device might launch in India soon after the brand is ready on December 5 in China.
