WhatsApp Could Allow Multiple Accounts on One Device
If you are someone who frequently uses multiple WhatsApp accounts, then the latest beta update may pique your interest. According to WABetaInfo, the messaging app is developing multi-account support for its Android version, which would enable you to switch between profiles on a single device. The feature seems to function similarly to switching accounts on Instagram, which is also owned by Meta, with a pop-up appearing at the bottom of the app displaying current accounts and the ability to add new ones.

All new accounts are saved to your device and can of course be logged out at any time. Multiple account support can be useful if you have different work and personal numbers or want to try out recent social media WhatsApp features like channels. This update allows you to send broadcasts like photos and polls to your followers, and WhatsApp plans to monetize it for content creators in the future. Similarly, WhatsApp has reportedly been working on a username feature that will let you find similar people on Instagram or Twitter without their phone number.
Multi-account support also follows the iOS and Android version companion mode update, which allows you to use the same WhatsApp account on up to four phones. Previously, you could only log in with one mobile phone with a tablet and a computer.
There’s no timeline yet for when you’ll be able to switch between accounts from a single device. We can expect multi-account support to be widespread when it’s fully released, but right now it’s only visible through the Android beta update.
