Apple introduces Vision Pro: App Store to utilize facial scanning for optimal headset fit.

Apple may be looking to make sure Vision Pro buyers get the right size by using face scanning. This is because Apple wants the Vision Pro to fit properly on users’ heads for optimal performance, and this is only possible if they purchase headphones with the correct Light Seal and Head Band.

This information is courtesy of MacRumors. The publication notes that

it found code snippets in the Apple Store app that suggest Apple does

scan your face with the Store app and suggest the right size for you. “You can scan your face to determine your size for Apple Vision Pro,” the code reads.

The release also notes that Apple has already used the Head Measure and Fit app to help developers testing the Vision Pro headset find the ideal fit. This could indicate that Apple plans to include similar functionality in the Apple App Store itself, and that this could be a solution for people who buy the Vision Pro online rather than in person, where the geniuses at the Apple Store can help them choose the right product.

In the package, Apple includes the headphones themselves, Solo Knit Band, Dual Loop Band, Light Seal, two Light Seal pads, a cover for the front of the device, a polishing cloth, and a USB-C power adapter and cable.

Along with ZEISS Optical components, the Apple Vision Pro is not a one-size-fits-all product. That being said, more information will be available when the Apple Vision Pro goes up for pre-order starting January 19th.
