On Wednesday, federal lawmakers who are against stricter gun regulations received phone calls in the voice of Joaquin “Guac” Oliver, a victim of the Parkland high school shooting in 2018. Along with the families of five other gun violence victims, they are utilizing artificial intelligence to generate messages in their loved ones’ voices.
