Launch of Nothing Phone 2a Officially Confirmed to be Imminent

After months of speculation and leaks about the Nothing Phone 2a, the London-based startup founded by Carl Pei has come forward to acknowledge the existence of said device, but has yet to reveal a release date.

This information came to light after Nothing revealed the same on X (formerly Twitter): “See the world with new eyes, the phone (2a) is coming,” Nothing posted. Moreover, the company has even added a new page to its official website that conveys the same message, but without the said release window.

Codenamed ‘Aerodactyl’, the phone will be a refined version of the flagship Nothing Phone 2 priced at Rs 44,999. The Nothing Phone 2 can be priced more aggressively and could be sold for much cheaper, especially considering that the Nothing Phone 2 is currently available for around Rs 35,000-40,000.

Additionally, the Nothing Phone 2a is expected to feature a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset, and 8GB of RAM and 128GB of base storage.

In terms of optics, the phone could feature a dual-camera setup consisting of a wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lens, with the primary one said to share the same 50-megapixel shooter as the Nothing Phone 2.

The device is also expected to feature Nothing’s hallmark – the glyph light system – which continues the aesthetics introduced in the Nothing Phone 1.
