Photoshop Utilizes Generative AI to Expand Images

Adobe has introduced a new feature called Generative Expand in the Photoshop beta, which utilizes AI-generated content to enlarge images. Users can now extend the image beyond its original size by dragging the crop tool, and this can be done with or without a text prompt. While this feature is particularly useful for enlarging small images, Adobe also suggests it can be beneficial for adjusting aspect ratios, rectifying incomplete subjects, or enhancing artwork. Artificial intelligence is this year’s buzzword after Google and Microsoft, and Adobe is now bringing generative AI to its core product, Photoshop. Called “Generative Fill,” it allows users to create or edit images using text prompts, similar to OpenAI’s DALL-E 2, but integrated directly into Adobe Photoshop.
