While 67 percent claimed to recognize AI-edited resumes, the survey points to a growing trend toward visual components, with 60 percent of managers favoring visually enriched CVs. Text-only resumes may become obsolete, as 71 percent believe they will decline within five years, Forbes reports.

2. ByteDance unveils StreamVoice: AI voice conversion raises fraud concerns

ByteDance introduces StreamVoice, an AI model that enables instant voice conversion that allows users to mimic others. Not yet public, the technology raises concerns about possible misuse in fraud. Developed by researchers at ByteDance and Northwestern Polytechnical University, StreamVoice offers real-time conversion with just one utterance and operates at streaming speed with 124 milliseconds latency. The effectiveness of AI is challenging previous offline voice conversion limitations due to recent advances in language models, Business Insider reported.

3. Netcore Cloud Report: 7 out of 10 CEOs plan to invest in generative AI

Netcore Cloud’s 2024 State of Martech report reveals that seven out of ten CEOs plan to invest in generative AI. The report analyzes changes in consumer behavior and highlights short-form video content and instant events. It suggests marketers adopt personalized strategies that target individuals for effective engagement across platforms. With 90 percent of consumers influenced by videos, influencer marketing is gaining traction, while emerging platforms like TikTok and WhatsApp are becoming new storefronts for brands, the Times of India reported.

4. Nasscom Foundation launches fourth cohort of Hexart AI to learn new technologies.

Nasscom Foundation, in partnership with Hexagon and Li2 Technologies, is launching the fourth cohort at the Hexart AI Community Center in Hyderabad. The aim of this initiative is to teach students the skills of artificial intelligence, machine learning and IoT with a focus on solving challenges related to agriculture, traffic management and detection of diabetic retinopathy. Dedicated to building a diverse talent pool especially for women, the program emphasizes inclusive growth and digital equality in India’s emerging digital economy, according to a Deccan Chronicle report.

5. Italy fines Trento 50,000 euros for AI privacy violations in street surveillance

Italy fined Trento 50,000 euros for AI privacy violations in street surveillance and ordered the deletion of data from two EU-funded projects. The punishment by the GPDP watchdog, the first for a local government, cites a number of breaches of data protection regulations. Despite Trento’s good faith, the collected data lacked sufficient anonymity and were improperly distributed to third parties. According to a Reuters report, the municipality is considering an appeal, highlighting the inadequacy of current legislation to regulate artificial intelligence to improve the city’s safety.
