xAI Unveils Grok: Here’s What You Need to Know

Elon Musk’s xAI, a billionaire, has introduced its AI model called Grok. The announcement was made on the X platform, where xAI stated that Grok is an AI inspired by the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. It is designed to provide answers to a wide range of questions and even suggest what questions to ask. Grok is known for its witty responses and a touch of rebelliousness, so it is recommended for those who appreciate humor.

It also highlighted the best part, adding: “The unique and fundamental advantage of Grok is that it has real-time information about the world through the 𝕏 platform.”

xAI’s post goes on to explain that Grok also answers spicy questions that most other AI systems often ignore. However, in the past, Elon Musk had stated that he would refuse to answer illegal questions, and he even offered an example of someone asking it a leading question about cocaine, and the bot refused to answer – with humor.

The Grok AI model is still an early beta product. As mentioned by XAI, they have been able to deploy this AI model in just 2 months of training. XAI has also said that Grok is expected to improve rapidly every week – also with the help of users. In particular, XAI is the artificial intelligence company of Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

How much does Grok cost?

The Grok AI model is only available to X Platform premium subscribers, at least initially. There are currently 2 subscription offers available for the microblogging platform. The first one is quite expensive at $16 per month. It offers you an ad-free experience. A second subscription will cost you $3 per month.

Just like ChatGPT, Grok also collects all its data from the web. However, the difference is that Grok is able to provide real-time information in its early stages, but ChatGPT was not able to do this. It will be exciting to explore more differences between the two AI models as Grok comes out of its beta phase.
