Apple iPhone 14 Plus could be a bigger hit than iPhone 13 Mini: here’s how

Apple replaced the iPhone Mini with the 14 Plus last year, and early signs showed that the company didn’t benefit much from the move. But fast-forward to the first quarter of 2023, and according to industry reports, the Plus version has fulfilled its purpose by outselling the iPhone 13 Mini in 2021.

Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) has shared their report which gives us an insight into the panel supply of different companies. The analyst company states that display shipments of the iPhone 14 series increased by 2 percent compared to the iPhone 13 collection. It also confirms that Apple continues to benefit from better features in the iPhone Pro models, which will always increase its revenue, while lower iPhone versions keep other consumers happy.

The analysis also explains whether the addition of the Plus version has benefited Apple in any way. It says that the display shipment of the iPhone 14 Plus model was 59 percent more than what Apple got for the Mini version in 2021. So does this mean that the iPhone 14 Plus has been a success?

Relatively speaking, Apple may not feel that it has been a big upgrade over the Mini version, but when looking at the big picture with the Pro versions, Apple feels that the Plus version has a greater chance of appealing to buyers compared to the compact Mini, which clearly suggests that the smaller phones are not is no longer in demand.

Apple has already started planning for 2023 with the rumored iPhone 15 lineup, which will likely see the first USB C charging support on iPhones. Again, the Pro models could see more profit compared to the vanilla variant, which means Apple could price the Pro and Pro Max models a bit higher than usual.

The company is also setting up a base to announce its Mixed Reality headset, which could be unveiled at Apple WWDC 2023, which usually takes place around June each year. Apple will also introduce new iMacs and other products later this year.
