Apple may reveal several new Macs and mixed reality headsets at WWDC 2023

We’re less than a week away from Apple’s WWDC 2023 event, with many announcements to look forward to, including the launch of mixed reality headsets, iOS 17 and the new MacOS system.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also claimed that “many new Macs” will be launched at the event. Given the large number of product launches, Gurman expects the WWDC 2023 keynote to be one of the longest-running shows Apple has ever held.

Gorman tweeted: “I predict three areas of focus next week: 1) lots of new Macs, 2) mixed reality headsets, 3) new operating systems.” He added: “With all the new hardware and software, we expect the keynote to be one of the longest.” Apple easily exceeds two hours.”

Gurman has previously stated that third-generation Apple Silicon Macs based on the M3 chipset will not be ready in time for WWDC 2023. Therefore, Apple will likely release M2-based Macs instead, including the long ones. Rumored to be a 15-inch MacBook Air.

However, it’s not clear what Gurman means by “many Macs,” since it’s hard to see what other M2-powered computers Apple will release. On the other hand, 9to5Mac has learned from sources that Apple is working on new 13-inch and 15-inch M3 chip MacBook Air models. The details are uncertain at the moment and everything will be revealed at the event.

In addition to the new Macs, Apple may also reveal an AR/MR headset for the first time together with xrOS. Apple has reportedly invited several industry experts, adding to the growing story of Apple’s mixed reality headset finally being revealed to the world. Gorman points out that this launch is likely to be a historic moment for the company and may even affect the “legacy” of Apple CEO Tim Cook.

In a Bloomberg Businessweek newsletter, Gurman claims that during the launch of the mixed reality headset, Tim Cook aims to recreate the same atmosphere that Apple has managed to achieve with its other products, such as the iPhone, AirPods, iPod and Apple Watch. .
