BGMI maker Krafton has officially announced the return of Battle Grounds Mobile India (BGMI) to the Indian gaming world after a previous ban due to security concerns. However, the Indian government has announced that the game will go through a strict 90-day monitoring period before making a final decision.

“This is #BGMI’s 3 month trial approval after complying with server location & security issues etc,” tweeted Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Electronics & IT.

Sean Hyunil Sohn, Managing Director of Krafton Inc India said, “We are very grateful to the Indian authorities for allowing us to continue BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (BGMI). We would like to express our gratitude to our Indian gaming community for their support and patience over the past few months . We are delighted to announce that BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA will soon be available for download and we can’t wait to welcome you back to our platform.”

It’s been almost 10 months since the game was removed from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store and banned under the IT section ACT 69A on July 28, 2022. The news of its return will no doubt excite millions of mobile gamers and streamers around the world. I.

“Since its inception, BGMI has significantly contributed to building a strong Esports ecosystem in the country through India-centric events and content. BGMI achieved a historic milestone by being the first mainstream televised Esports event to attract 24 million concurrent viewers and 200 million total viewers,” added Sean Hyunil Sohn.

According to the press release, BGMI will be available for download “soon” and users will be able to access it from both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
