‘Detective Pikachu Sequel Coming to Nintendo Switch on October 6th’
Nintendo has revealed that Detective Pikachu Returns will be released on October 6th, 2023, and can now be added to wishlists. The franchise’s latest installment was announced in 2019, following the success of the charming Detective Pikachu film.
The original Detective Pikachu was released worldwide in 2018. It gave Pikachu a new friend and a voice, turning him into a gruff private investigator and adding some Ace Attorney vibes to the game. It’s more of a narrative adventure than the traditional Pokémon games — which makes sense, given the upcoming movie.
The new installment reunites Pikachu with his pal Tim Goodman, and as the debut trailer shows, horrors ensue. Regardless of the plot of the game, it’s always great to see Pikachu in a little hat, holding a cup of coffee and pondering the mysteries of life.
