This Electric Vehicle is Like a Remote-Controlled Car That Has Experienced a Major Expansion

The Little Car Company, based in the UK, has created a life-size replica of the popular Tamiya Wild One RC car from the 1980s. According to Car and Driver, this electric vehicle is equipped with eight interchangeable battery packs, providing a total range of 124 miles.

The Wild One Max has plenty of climb and go, with a top speed of 62 mph. The biggest feature, however, is how much this full-sized vehicle resembles its fun-sized cousin. Just look at this thing. Even cooler? The EV will make its public debut next weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex, England, where a number of manufacturers will reveal wacky concept cars.

However, this is more than just a concept car, as it will be street legal and available for purchase, with an estimated price of around $45,000. However, you won’t be able to cruise the hills of Virginia with this beast as it will only be launched in the UK due to US Federal Vehicle Standards.

The Tamiya Wild One Max was originally announced in 2021, but its design has changed significantly since then. It’s bigger, more powerful, and of course more expensive, as the original design was estimated to cost around $8,500. The new design also features a revised front suspension system, an interior suitable for two passengers and a total weight of 1,100 kilograms.

Interestingly, the manufacturer The Little Car Company is better known for shrinking classic cars into smaller collectibles rather than the other way around. It seems the company has changed from Honey, I Shrunk the Kids to Honey, I Blew Up the Kid. More power to them.

If you have money to burn in Europe, in addition to the electric car, you can buy the optional Road Pack, which includes a windshield, a pair of small wipers, mirrors, fenders and removable lights. Although this vehicle is four-wheel drive in Europe, so it can be registered for road use, you cannot drive it on motorways.
