Google Play Console Lists Pixel Watch 2 With Improved Chipset

The Pixel Watch 2 has leaked through the Google Play Console, confirming that the watch will use the Qualcomm SW5100 chipset, which is a Snapdragon W5 paired with a Qualcomm Adreno 702 GPU, as reported by 9to5Google.

This means that Google will upgrade the Pixel Watch’s processor from the original model Exynos 9110 to a newer, faster processor. However, the Pixel Watch 2 is expected to have the same 2GB of RAM as the current model, but will run on WearOS 4, which includes a backup feature.

Additionally, Google is said to stick with the same 384×384 resolution and 320 ppi screen-to-screen density, but switch to Samsung’s OLED panels instead of BOE.

9to5Mac also mentions that the second-generation Pixel Watch will likely use aluminum for its casing; instead of the stainless steel case of the first generation. This would make the watch lighter and take up less space, making it more comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

Google released the first generation Pixel Watch in 2022 alongside the Pixel 7 series. This year, the search giant is expected to release the second-generation Pixel Watch during the fall, which is likely to take place in October.

Notably, the Google Pixel watch was not released in several markets, including India, but earlier this month, the Pixel Watch 2 was listed on India’s BIS website, confirming a possible launch in the country. The Pixel Watch 2 is expected to be released in both Wi-Fi and LTE versions.
