Motorola to launch new foldable phone on June 1; It could be called the Moto Razr 40 Ultra

Motorola has been making foldable (flip) phones for quite some time – starting all the way with the Moto Razr, its modern take on the creation of a flip phone. While the last iterations may have been limited to China, this time the brand is set to bring the new foldable phone to more territories on June 1st.

It is unclear whether the Lenovo-owned brand will bring two new models or just one with different marketing names in different regions. Two new models are rumored to be launched under the Moto Razr 40 series – Moto Razr 40 and Moto Razr 40 Ultra. As the name suggests, the Moto Razr 40 Ultra is expected to feature top-of-the-line hardware and hence the higher price tag.

The brand has tweeted a teaser stating, “Flip the script. June 1st.” Also, an image leaked earlier this month via 91Mobiles possibly showing off the new Moto Razr phone. The leaked image reveals a slimmer design and a new magenta-like color compared to previous models.

In terms of specifications, reports suggest that the new foldable device might be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Qualcomm’s current flagship system. It’s also likely to have a dual-camera setup with a wide and ultra-wide-angle lens, similar to the 2022 model.

The brand has not confirmed whether the phone will be launched in India or not. However, on June 1, it should become clear whether the new Razr will join the growing collection of flip phones in the Indian market alongside the likes of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Oppo Find N2 Flip.
