Delhi Areas Restrict Online Deliveries by Swiggy, Domino’s, and Zomato

Delhi is making preparations to host the G20 Summit, a significant international event, at Pragati Maidan on September 9 and 10. In order to maintain security, authorities are introducing certain measures, including a temporary prohibition on food and commercial deliveries from September 8 to 10. It should be emphasized that this is not a complete lockdown of the region. The Delhi traffic police have assured commuters that bus and metro services will continue to operate during the G20 Summit, albeit with certain restrictions.

“Only New Delhi and NDMC have been included in the control zone. Bus and metro services are available. Pragati Maidan and Supreme Court metro station services will be affected,” he said, adding that online delivery of essential services will be allowed, ANI reported.

The impact on Swiggy and Zomato’s online deliveries is quite large. “But Swiggy, Domino’s food delivery is not allowed in New Delhi area,” he added.

No food delivery services during the G20

During the G20 summit, commercial deliveries and cloud kitchens will not be allowed for three days in Delhi’s NDMC area. This means that popular food delivery services like Swiggy, Zomato, Blinkit and Zepto cannot work during this time.

It is worth mentioning that these restrictions apply only to New Delhi and NDMC area. Essential online services will continue, so you can still order essential items for delivery. However, services like Swiggy and Domino’s food delivery are not available in New Delhi during this time.

In addition to food delivery services, commercial deliveries from companies such as Amazon, Flipkart and Myntra will be temporarily banned in the controlled area.

Essential services will remain unchanged

But don’t worry, it won’t affect basic services. You can still get medical services, including ambulance transport, pathology laboratory services and sample collection. Postal services will also continue as before.

Use MapmyIndia app for navigation

To make it easier for everyone to navigate during this time, Delhi Traffic Police recommends downloading the original MapmyIndia app. This app helps you find alternative routes and reach your destination smoothly.

So while there will be some restrictions at the G20 summit, key services and transport options will still be available to the public.
