Elon Musk Slams Advertisers Ditching X – What’s His Beef?

In a recent interview, X owner Elon Musk apologized for a controversial post on social media (formerly Twitter). He acknowledged it as the “dumbest” on social media. However, Musk strongly criticized advertisers who leave the platform due to X’s rise in anti-Semitism.

In an interview with The New York Times DealBook Summit, Elon Musk used strong language and repeatedly told companies running ads to “go ** yourself,” according to a Business Insider India report.

“I don’t want them to advertise. If somebody’s going to extort me with ads or money, go the hell out. Go. F*. Yourself. Got it? Hey Bob, if you’re in the audience, that’s how I feel,'” he said, referring to Disney CEO Bob Iger, who spoke earlier at the summit on Wednesday.

Musk made the remark with X CEO Linda Yaccarino sitting in the audience. Yaccarino was brought into the company to lure back big-name advertisers. Ge also said that he has no problem being hated.

According to Reuters, Musk has faced a flurry of criticism since agreeing with a user who falsely claimed that Jews incite hatred against white people. Musk said in his post that the user who referred to the “big compensation” conspiracy theory was speaking the “real truth.”

Musk’s comments have put pressure on X, including CEO Linda Yaccarino. The executive told Reuters he would remain with the company. Musk himself seemed to have decided that X could fail financially and blamed advertisers.

After the verdict on his post, Elon Musk visited Israel and toured the conflict site in October. He later had a live-streamed conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, X. Musk said the trip was planned regardless of the controversy surrounding his social media posts.
