Frankenstein AI to exams, here are 6 astonishing ways AI can revolutionize the world indefinitely

Throughout history, numerous revolutions have occurred, altering society and influencing the future of humanity. From the transformation of industries in the 18th century to the digital revolution in the 2000s, progress has been accelerating rapidly in recent centuries. In recent times, a new revolution has been emerging: artificial intelligence (AI). This revolution is anticipated to have a significant impact across various sectors, including farming, healthcare, education, and industries. Experts predict that AI has the potential to reshape the world in the near future, and we outline six ways in which this could occur.

Artificial intelligence could change the world

Norwegian podcast “Game Over?” In a new episode (via the Norwegian University of Science and Technology), researchers Professor Morten Goodwin and Associate Professor Per-Arne Andersen share their vision of how artificial intelligence could change the world by 2029.

1. One of the first effects would be in an arms race, researchers say. Countries like India, the US and China can develop advanced AI powered weapon systems. Goodwin said: “One country can come up with highly intelligent swarms of drones that can cause significant destruction. In response, other countries will work harder to create even more destructive weapons.”

2. General artificial intelligence can also be seen significantly. At present, general artificial intelligence helps to achieve a wide range of tasks and is not limited to a single purpose, such as creating images. “I don’t think we’ll achieve this by 2029, but maybe we’ll have some kind of Frankenstein AI that combines many different forms of artificial intelligence,” Andersen said.

3. Another shocking change predicted to happen with artificial intelligence is the disappearance of tests, researchers say. “I don’t think there will be exams in five years. Why should we test something that AI can do better than us? Although colleges and universities still exist, they are not what we think of them today,” Goodwin said.

4. With the development of artificial intelligence, healthcare can also be one of the most affected sectors. Robots are already used to perform complex surgeries around the world. In the near future, AI, when more widely incorporated into robots, may help heal damaged tissues and muscles. Robots can also detect tumors in the body. Goodwin said: “I also believe that anti-aging with artificial intelligence will emerge in the next five years. This means that artificial intelligence will not only repair the damage, but may also reveal why we age.

5. Space travel could also be transformed by artificial intelligence, and researchers say billionaire Elon Musk could lead the charge. Goodwin said: “Whether the robots used are physical or virtual may not be decisive, but I believe they will be introduced by 2029, led by Elon Musk”.

6. While the rise of artificial intelligence may be beneficial to some, it may also lead to job losses. And this may cause protests against its widespread adoption. “Those who have lost their jobs may feel as if they are losing their identity and are no longer relevant in society. I expect there will be many protests against the rise of AI,” Andersen said.

As we navigate through this AI revolution, it is imperative that we maintain the human element of society.
