Here’s What Happened When Nothing Phone 2a Underwent a Drop and Scratch Test

The Nothing Phone 2a is a solid mid-range device that fights in a crowded market. But like all other phones, the Phone 2a has recently gone through the dreaded drop and scratch tests. The results may surprise some of you, but overall nothing seems to have struck the right balance between quality and value.

The phone 2a was dropped several times in the hope that the device would break, after all it is made of cheaper materials, especially the body and back panel.

None Phone 2a drop test: how did it fare?

The phone 2a went through a round of grueling drop tests, but to my great surprise, the device held up quite well. In fact, the plastic back panel didn’t break into pieces and they only saw some scratches.

The front of the Phone 2a might be the weakest link, and we’ve found in our time that the screen can be sensitive to keys and coins in your pocket, and you’ll immediately notice the abrasive nature of the screen. Nothing has used the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer to protect the screen, but it works just fine.

The Phone 2a is probably the most durable phone you can buy under Rs 25,000, which is quite an achievement and shows that the None has managed to strike a balance with cost-cutting without letting the overall quality drop significantly.

As for the main features, the Phone 2a sports an AMOLED 120Hz refresh rate display powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. You get two rear cameras with 50 megapixel cells and a 32 megapixel front camera. The device has the largest battery of any Nothing Phone, and the 5,000mAh unit supports 45W wired charging, but there’s no wireless charging.
