According to information from Apple tipster Kosutami, Apple is considering a big redesign for the HomePod, featuring a curved LCD display.News

All the Information We Have on the Rumored Apple HomePod with a ‘Curved Display’

Apple’s first-generation HomePod was launched in 2018, and since then we’ve seen the iPhone maker release two generations of it, along with the HomePod Mini. The second generation improved in many aspects compared to the first generation product, but the whole project has not been renewed. However, this could soon change when Apple releases a major redesign with a curved LCD screen, as Apple’s Kosutam advises.

While we’ve heard rumors about a possible update back in October, the tipster has now shared new information about it. He mentions that this new HomePod, codenamed B720, is expected to have a curved display panel at the top of the speaker, and has also shared images of what could be the product’s top case. Everything else is expected to remain unchanged.

It should be noted that the initiator shared leaks showing components of the same earlier this year. In fact, Apple analysts Mark Gurman and Ming-Chi Kuo have also suggested that Apple is working on a HomePod with a display.

It will be interesting to see the potential use cases for the alleged display on the HomePod if/when it comes out. Reports so far suggest that Apple might offer users a fuzzy animation based on the album artwork or song. In addition, it can also allow users to respond to messages and calls.

Aside from the leaked components, there is currently no word on when users should expect this updated HomePod. And of course, until Apple makes it official, this information should be taken with a grain of salt, as production plans can always change at the last minute.
