IRCTC Warns of Impostor Mobile App Aimed at Deceiving Users
IRCTC, the catering and tourism division of the railways, has issued a cautionary message to its customers regarding a deceptive mobile app campaign that aims to deceive them into opening IRCTC Rail Connect.
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has stated that it is a fake app and has asked people not to fall prey to it.
“It has been reported that there is a malicious and fake mobile app campaign going on where some fraudsters are sending phishing links on a mass scale and asking users to download the fake ‘IRCTC Rail Connect’ mobile app to trick common citizens into fraudulent activities,” the advisory said.
It has also attached a picture of the fake mobile app in action.
IRCTC has also advised customers to use their official Rail Connect mobile apps from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
