Leaked Prototype of Google’s Pixel 8 Pro Unveiled

According to a report from DroidLife, new photos of Google’s Pixel 8 Pro have surfaced on Reddit, allegedly posted by someone associated with Google. The images reveal a camera setup on the back that resembles previous Pixel models, as well as a rumored body temperature sensor. Additionally, there is a sticker on the device indicating that it is for testing and evaluation purposes only. Another sticker displays the code name “Zuma – B1,” which could potentially refer to Google’s upcoming Tensor G3 chip. On the front screen, there is a Fastboot Mode display showing specifications such as 12GB of Samsung LPDDR5 DRAM, 128GB of storage, and the previously leaked codename “husky” for the Pixel 8 Pro.

The Pixel 8 Pro is supposed to have a more powerful camera array, with a 50-megapixel (MP) Samsung main camera that lets in 50 percent more light, and a 64-megapixel ultra-wide-angle Sony camera. It also appears to have a flat display as rumored and not a curved display like the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 7 Pro. According to another leak, it will have a 5,000mAh battery (about the same as the Pixel 7 Pro) and a modest bump from 23W to 27W maximum charging speed.

In a series of Reddit posts, poster “annoyingtoread” said he received it “from the Google device team for testing.” The person then mused that maybe they should use a disposable account, and someone replied “you really should, because you’ve even posed for pictures of yourself on that account.” The original publisher later deleted their account.
