AADHAR & DBT – Biggest Achievements

One of the major achievements of PM Modi’s digital initiatives is Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), which has helped reduce corruption by transferring cash directly to the bank accounts of poor beneficiaries.

However, DBT would not have been possible without the implementation of the Aadhaar program, which has given every citizen of India a unique universal identity. It is now easier to access government welfare schemes if people have an Aadhaar card.

Digital empowerment and transformation

In promoting inclusive development, the Digital India program has connected rural areas with technology-based infrastructure, providing secure online access to information services and increasing digital literacy.

Although the ITeS sector has been the primary beneficiary of the program

incredible success, growing Internet penetration and e-commerce have created a growing demand for ITeS services, created more jobs and significantly boosted the economy.

SKILL INDIA – Key role in creating skilled workforce

Initiatives like Skill India and Talent Acquisition Platform have been instrumental in creating a skilled workforce. The focus on technical and soft skills training has yielded positive results through increased employment opportunities in the IT/ITeS segments.

Policy reforms and incentives promoting digitization have also helped the nation create a competitive advantage in the global digital economy.

Speaking about the enabling environment for digital initiatives, Avaali Solutions Founder and CEO Srividya Kannan said, “Avaali Solutions has benefited from the Credit Guarantee Fund for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE), which provides unsecured credit facilities to SMEs. up to Rs 2 crores without third-party guarantee. India’s Growing Global Position

India’s growing position in the global environment was highlighted recently at the India-US Hi-Tech Handshake in June 2023, when Prime Minister Modi and US President Joe Biden reviewed the two countries’ growing technology cooperation.

The talks focused on the possibilities of the India-US technology partnership to promote the introduction of an AI-based inclusive economy to meet the needs of its citizens and the world as a whole.

In creating global technology cooperation, India’s progress in building digital public infrastructure also received positive attention. The growing demand for digital solutions opens up new avenues for innovation, especially in areas such as artificial intelligence. Digital implementation also gives companies the opportunity to expand their coverage by targeting global markets.

Data protection issues

As digital initiatives increase, cyber security and privacy issues raise concerns in many quarters. While recognizing the importance of digital programs in promoting inclusive development, there is a growing demand to create a secure environment that protects sensitive data and allows businesses to operate efficiently and effectively.

“Information privacy and cybersecurity should be managed through a multi-layered approach that combines effective implementation of cyber risk management programs, system security, business resilience programs, employee training and compliance with relevant regulations and standards,” said Srividya Kannan.

“It’s important to stay up-to-date with the latest threats and vulnerabilities and take proactive steps to mitigate them. This includes regular vulnerability assessments, security audits, penetration testing and network monitoring to identify and prevent potential security breaches,” he added.

Avaali’s CEO also said that he believes that prioritizing employee training is essential for digital security and data protection. All of these processes must adhere to industry best practices and comply with relevant regulations and standards, including the IT Act, GDPR, HIPAA and PCI DSS.

The digital law change changes the regulatory framework

The upcoming Digital India Bill has the potential to transform the country’s regulatory framework while providing an ideal environment for the growth of the IT industry.

The bill aims to create a comprehensive legal framework to promote digital infrastructure, enhance e-governance, secure cyberspace and promote digital literacy among the masses.

It also facilitates ease of doing business, attracts national and international investments to India and boosts economic growth.

To achieve these goals, the bill outlines a comprehensive roadmap for integrating technology in various segments such as healthcare, education, and agriculture. This integration will increase efficiency, productivity and transparency as we build a digitally empowered India.

It also leads to smoother and more efficient digital affairs, safer data protection and more job creation in the IT sector.

“Through the Digital India Bill, the country is poised to continue as a global leader in IT, benefiting its economy, security and overall development, thanks to the comprehensive vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Srividya Kannan said.
