Realme Race will be one of the first phones with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888

Realme has announced that it will offer one of the first flagship phones with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chipset. Realme has teased its upcoming phone named ‘Race’ with the new flagship 5G SoC.

Realme has not shared any other details about its upcoming flagship phone other than the processor confirmation. The smartphone was leaked, however, according to a report from GSMArena. Realme Race will ship with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. The smartphone would also run Android 11 with Realme UI 2.0 overlaid. The report featured an image of the phone that shows a circular camera module with four sensors and a shiny back.

Realme Race will likely be part of the company’s “X” series, but there is no confirmation yet. Realme has yet to announce a launch date for the same.

We will see Qualcomm’s new chipset on other phones from brands like Asus, Black Shark, Lenovo, LG, Meizu, Motorola, Nubia, OnePlus, Oppo, Sharp, Vivo, Xiaomi, and ZTE. Qualcomm announced its flagship Snapdragon 888 5G chipset at its annual Snapdragon Tech Summit Digital 2020 event.

The new 5G chipset is equipped with the 3rd generation Snapdragon X60 5G Modem-RF system which offers mmWave and sub-6 on all major bands. It also includes Snapdragon Elite Gaming, which reportedly supports up to 144 frames per second (fps). Qualcomm also said that the Snapdragon 888 is capable of capturing photos and videos at 2.7 gigapixels per second, or around 120 photos at 12-megapixel resolution. It’s 35% faster than the previous generation.
