Starting today, Apple Vision Pro will provide access to Microsoft Office apps such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The official sales of the Apple Vision Pro headset will finally begin in the US, following its debut at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). Despite some mobile apps like Netflix, Spotify, and Google refusing to adapt their platforms for the new virtual reality headset, Microsoft has recently revealed that their Office apps, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, will be available on the newly released Apple product. Additionally, Apple will incorporate its AI assistant, Copilot, into the Vision Pro. Find out more about Microsoft’s plans for the launch of the Apple Vision Pro headset.

Microsoft 365 apps in Apple Vision Pro

According to the Microsoft blog, various productivity applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint will be available for Apple Vision Pro starting February 2, 2024. It said: “On February 2, Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and Loop will be available in the Apple Vision Pro App Store.” Along with Office applications, Vision Pro includes Microsoft’s recently announced AI assistant Copilot.

The concept of spatial computing capabilities in Vision Pro allows users to experience unprecedented multitasking and flexibility as they can run productivity applications side-by-side at different sizes. In its blog post, Microsoft also mentioned its partnership with Apple to bring Office applications to iPhone, iPad and Mac. Now, the company has also tailored its apps for the new Vision Pro headset, which launches today in the US. Apple sold around 180,000 headphones during the pre-order period.

Microsoft also highlighted the use of Copilot in Vision Pro. It said: “You can create, analyze and connect using your own words and voice (literally). In addition, users can hold meetings and an AI assistant can instantly draft, edit and summarize side-by-side. Using natural language commands, users can easily create and prepare for presentations.”
