The Game Awards 2020: The Last of Us Part II wins Game of the Year and many more
The first virtual Game Awards took place last night with the event being broadcast live from three studios in Los Angeles, London and Tokyo. This is the first time that the Game Awards have gone virtual like many other events due to the pandemic. It also allowed the Game Awards 2020 to be broadcast live from three different locations.
The Last of Us Part II won the coveted “Game of the Year” award. The Last of Us Part II has won numerous other awards for Best Direction, Storytelling, Audio Design, Accessibility Innovation, and Action / Adventure. Laura Bailey also won Best Performance for Abby in The Last of Us Part II. It was a glorious night for Naughty Dog’s hit sequel at the 2020 Game Awards.
InnerSloth s Among Us has won two awards for Best Mobile Game and Best Multiplayer Game. InnerSloth also revealed a new map called The Airship for Among Us. The new among Us map is slated for release in early 2021. Other 2020 favorites like Animal Crossings: New Horizon took home the award for Best Family Game and Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout took home the award for Best Community Support.
