Usagi Yojimbo to Feature in ‘TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge’ DLC

Later this year, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, a highly acclaimed beat ’em up game, will receive a substantial DLC from developer Tribute Games and publisher Dotemu. The Dimension Shellshock DLC will introduce a new game mode, fresh color variations for playable characters, and new playable characters, including the legendary comic book samurai Miyamoto Usagi from Usagi Yojimbo.

For the uninitiated, Miyamoto Usagi is a samurai rabbit, although he has often been associated with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in several cartoon series and several animated series. Technically, Usagi Yojimbo is set in Edo period Japan, but that hasn’t stopped her from showing up in modern day NYC to fight Shredder’s henchmen. To that end, the DLC includes several time portals that bring the ronin bunny to the present day and bring the turtles back to 17th century Japan.

The trailer clearly advertises the presence of new characters, plural, but only Usagi is mentioned by name. Additionally, the DLC includes a brand new game mode that locks players into survival rooms to fight waves of enemies. There are also new color palettes for the turtles to add an old school feel to your favorite turtles.

Dimension Shellshock DLC will be released later this year on most major platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC via Steam, and Xbox One. The price has not yet been announced. In related news, Shredder’s Revenge was recently released on iOS and Netflix.
