Kiryu has some new fighting skills that look a little… familiarGaming

‘Yakuza: Like A Dragon Gaiden’ Brings Back Kiryu on November 9th 2023

Sega has announced that the Yakuza series, which follows the story of Japanese gangsters, will continue with Like a Dragon 8. Additionally, the company has hinted at a new title that will focus on the protagonist from the first six games, Kiryu Kazuma, although he will not be referred to by name.

The awkwardly titled Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name centers on Kiryu who, after faking his death, is back on the mean, incredibly reflective streets of Japan. According to leaks from earlier this week, it will feature two fighting styles, including “agent” techniques, which appear to be both gadget-intensive and remind me a lot of Link’s Ultrahand, which is probably the best game of 2023. Oh, and Spider-Man. In short, it gets very silly again.

Gaiden looks to be another traditional fighting game and will be released on the 9th. November 2023. If you’re looking for more RPG-style gangster adventures, you’ll have to wait for next year’s Like A Dragon 8.
