How to activate two-factor authentication on Facebook: Check here for complete guide

Meta-owned social media platform Facebook allows users to enable two-factor authentication to increase the security of their accounts. Two-step authentication or 2FA is a security feature that helps protect your Facebook account from unauthorized access.

With 2FA enabled, your personal and sensitive information on Facebook is better protected from cybercriminals, phishing and other online threats.

If you set up two-factor authentication, you’ll be asked to enter a special login code or confirm a login attempt every time someone tries to use Facebook on a browser or mobile device. You can also receive alerts when someone tries to log in from an unauthorized browser or mobile device.

Setting up two-factor authentication on Facebook: A step-by-step guide

– Log in to your Facebook account and click on the top right corner of the page.

– Select “Settings” from the drop-down menu.

– Click on “Security and Login” on the left side panel.

– Scroll down to the “Two Factor Authentication” section and click “Edit”.

– Click “Start”.

– Select the desired method of receiving the security code.

– You can choose between text message, authentication application or security key.

-If you choose SMS, enter your phone number and click “Next”.

-You will receive a code on your phone, which you must enter on the next page.

If you choose an authenticator app, you’ll need to download one like Google Authenticator or Authy, scan the QR code, and enter the code generated by the app.

-If you choose a security key, paste the key and tap it when prompted.

– After entering the code, click “Next”.

– Choose whether you want to be asked for a code every time you log in, or only on unknown devices.

Two-factor authentication is now enabled on your Facebook account, making it much more secure. Now every time you log in from an unknown device, you will be asked to enter a security code in addition to your password.
