Apple Vision Pro could potentially expand its launch to additional regions prior to WWDC 2024.
The Apple Vision Pro will be available for pre-order in a few days on January 19 in the US. The product will then be released on February 2nd.
As the media gets their hands on the product for review, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed that Apple may be planning to expand the availability of the Vision Pro to the rest of the world before its WWDC 2024 event.
For the uninitiated, the Apple Vision Pro headset is currently limited to the US and Apple has not revealed when it will be available in other regions.
Ming-Chi Kuo points out that if Apple releases the headset before WWDC, it will help the iPhone maker promote the “VisionOS global development ecosystem.” Additionally, he added that Apple will not initially release the Vision Pro outside the US due to limited supply.
It also wants to test the waters in the US market and see the response. Another reason for not starting the headset is because it needs to change the existing algorithms to comply with the regulations of other countries.
While it remains unclear which regions Apple plans to launch the Vision Pro in after the US, reports suggest that the UK, China and Canada could be next in line. US availability will be limited initially, with around 80,000 units of the headset expected to be available at launch, and stocks may sell out quickly.
