Twitter’s ongoing Blue tick saga has taken a new twist as a number of influential and famous users have returned blue checks on Elon Musk’s microblogging site despite not having subscribed to the service.

Recently, Musk announced that the old ticks will start disappearing from April 20.

However, now the blue verification marks next to the usernames of several influential and well-known Twitter users worldwide have been restored.

American journalist Matt Binder tweeted that he got the blue tick for free.

“Elon Musk just gave me mine for free and I’m not even a Hollywood celebrity.”

Indian journalist Nidhi Razdan also got her blue tick back.

He tweeted: “My blue tick is back for some reason. I haven’t paid for it. What’s up @Twitter?”.

In addition, the American news magazine The New York Times has received Business Verification on Twitter.
