Delhi Traffic Police Recommends App to Help Navigate Route to Airport and Metro Stations

Delhi Traffic Police has advised people of Delhi-NCR to follow ‘Mappls Mapmyindia App’ to get important information about traffic, public transport routes to airport, railway stations, bus and metro stations ahead of G20 summit on September 9.

Here are some key points from the Delhi Traffic Police’s September 1 message:

• Airport, rail, metro services, interstate buses and city buses will operate as normal, but services may be affected or restricted.

• Metro services are available at all stations, except for the Supreme Court metro station on certain days and times.

• Interstate buses can reach Delhi and have ring road termini as per the traffic bulletin.

• City buses ply on Ring Road and then towards Delhi borders, but service is not available in New Delhi area.

• TSRs (Three-Wheelers) and taxis are not allowed to enter or ply in New Delhi at certain times during the Summit.

• Taxis transporting bona fide residents and tourists with valid reservations to hotels within the New Delhi area are allowed to ply the road network within New Delhi.

• Bonafide residents and authorized vehicles are allowed to move within New Delhi.

• Vehicles dealing with housekeeping, catering and waste management of hotels, hospitals and other important institutions in New Delhi will be allowed after inspection.

The Delhi Traffic Police also said, “During the G20 Summit, advanced traffic management measures and technologies may be introduced to manage traffic effectively. These may include smart traffic lights, real-time traffic updates through mobile apps and traffic monitoring systems to ensure smooth flow and minimize congestion.”

However, it urged people to download Mappls MapmyIndia app for exact alternative routes “in accordance with traffic rules”.

The app provides real-time route closures and traffic diversions based on official and updated Delhi Police traffic notifications. It provides accurate alternative routes according to traffic regulations, ensuring that users can navigate the city seamlessly despite temporary changes in traffic routes.

Mappls has partnered with the authorities to provide the public with accurate maps and navigation instructions, ensuring a hassle-free travel experience based on official and updated advice.

In addition to the need to download an app during the G20, which begins on September 8, to enable smooth movement in the city, commuters are encouraged to stay updated through official channels.
