E3 2023 has officially been canceled as major game companies including Nintendo, Microsoft pull out

Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2023, the world’s largest gaming conference, has been canceled and was scheduled to return in person to Los Angeles for the first time since 2019.

The announcement comes after several gaming companies, including Nintendo, Microsoft and Ubisoft, claimed they would not be participating in the event.

According to an email sent to employees and confirmed by IGN, E3 2023 “simply did not garner the sustained interest in executing it in a way that showcased the size, strength and impact of our industry.”

E3 2023 was scheduled for 13-16 June.

“This was a difficult decision because we and our partners are putting so much effort into making this event happen, but we had to do what’s right for the industry and what’s right for E3,” said Kyle Marsden-Kish, ReedPop’s global director of games. , it was said.

“We appreciate and understand that interested companies would not have playable demos ready and that resource challenges made being at E3 in the summer a hurdle they could not overcome. To those who committed to E3 2023, we’re sorry we can’t deliver the showcase you’ve come to expect from ReedPop’s event experiences,” added Marsden-Kish.
