Experience Unique Sensations with Assassin’s Creed Haptic Shirt

Have you ever thought that your Assassin’s Creed gameplay lacked a personal touch? Well, Ubisoft is taking a chance and offering you the opportunity to try something new. In collaboration with OWO, the company has introduced the Assassin’s Creed Mirage edition haptic feedback shirt. When you wear it, you’ll experience the thrill of parkour, impacts, and even unique sensations that you’ve never felt before. It seems like you might want some privacy while playing, judging by the immersive sounds it promises.

OWO’s shirt contains haptic points on the chest, stomach, lower back and arms. The trick is an algorithm that adjusts nine wave parameters to simulate wind-to-dagger interactions. You can use the mobile app to calibrate the sensations in certain games or replace them with your own. Compatible games are often based on mods (like Fortnite and Beat Saber), but there are already a handful of original games like Crisis Brigade 2 Reloaded and Drone War. This is the first significant collaboration.

Pricing details and release date are still unknown, but the haptic clothing will work with PS4, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game will be released on the 12th. October, and the OWO shirt contains the game code. OWO’s Founder Edition jersey retailed for €499 ($560), but was also part of a 2,000-unit batch and may not reflect the final price.

Wearable haptics in games aren’t new, but they tend to be experimental efforts. Take Sony’s Rez Infinite synesthesia suit from 2017 as an example. The Assassin’s Creed collaboration may not bring this technology into the mainstream, but it’s coming as the next generation of mixed reality headsets hit the market. Don’t be surprised if haptics gain traction as immersion becomes more important in AR and VR games.
