Hulu Launches Platform for Adult Animation and Anime

Hulu is making a significant move in the animation industry, as its collection of animated shows consistently attract high viewership on the platform. Popular titles such as Bob’s Burgers, Futurama, and King of the Hill contribute to this success. In order to fully leverage the demand for adult animation, Hulu has introduced a sub-brand called Animayhem. This new brand will serve as a dedicated hub for both existing animated shows like the aforementioned ones, as well as original content like Solar Opposites and Koala Man.

In total, the hub/sub-brand provides access to 2,600 episodes of traditional animation spread across 46 series, and a whopping 18,400 episodes of anime across 435 series. That’s over 20,000 episodes of cartoon goodness for those keeping count. As such, Hulu touts the platform as an “animation destination” for Streamer.

Animayhem’s surprise release comes just two weeks before the latest Futurama reboot, and is just the beginning of the streamer’s plans to dominate animation. Hulu has ordered new episodes of Mike Judge’s King of the Hill and plans to have a big presence at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, promising an immersive experience called “Hulu Animayhem: Into the Second Dimension.”

In the meantime, the hub is already available as part of a standard Hulu subscription, so go ahead and enjoy Archer, Family Guy, and all the hundreds and hundreds of anime series available, like One Piece and Naruto.
