Instagram down to thousands of users: Check here for latest updates

Instagram, the popular photo and video sharing service owned by Meta, crashed on Wednesday from thousands of users around the world.

More than 27,000 users had trouble accessing the social network, according to Downdetector, which tracks outages by compiling status reports from multiple sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform.

Downdetector’s break curve showed a peak in reports around 7:00 AM. More than 50 percent of reported outages were related to server connectivity, while 20 percent were related to login issues.

Instagram has yet to officially comment on this outage, but issues are becoming more common on Twitter.

Affected users said that when they try to open Instagram, the platform crashes. People can’t log in either.

With Instagram disappearing in many parts of the world, people took to Twitter to share funny memes.

“Wondering if my phone is down or if Instagram is just down again. #instagramdown,” the user wrote on Twitter.

“Everyone is going back to Twitter after finding out Instagram is gone,” another tweet read.

“Thanks Twitter for confirming I’m not just banned again #instagramdown,” one user wrote on Twitter.
