Nasscom partners with Microsoft to launch AI Gamechangers program

The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) said on Tuesday it had partnered with Microsoft India to launch an AI Gamechangers program in the country. As part of this program, the organization will identify impactful and scalable AI-driven innovations taking place in India. Microsoft is the program’s “innovation partner”.

In accordance with the partnership, Microsoft and Nasscom will work together to develop and promote the AI program. The program aims to recognize innovators for their successful implementation of AI at the Nasscom Xperience AI Summit. The organization hopes the program will help boost startups, businesses, universities, governments and NGOs using artificial intelligence as a technology.

The selection criteria will be based on three aspects. First, the problem that an entity chose to solve using AI. Second, the innovation used in the implementation. The third is the impact of deployment. Applications for the program are open until April 16. The screening will end on April 30. In mid-May, shortlisted participants will be required to present their program. The winners of the program will be announced on July 21 and 22.

According to the FAQ, attendees should showcase the deployment in a live model instead of a pilot or prototype stage. The deploying organization must have at least ten employees. The solution provider must be registered as an Indian company. According to organizers, the use case will be judged on the merits of impact over the past two years even if it has been operational longer than that. You can read more about the program here.

The past decades have seen dramatic growth in innovation and talent in India. As the country continues to move forward to become the global hub of innovation, we predict that AI will add $500 billion to India’s GDP by 2025. Through this program, we aim to shine a light on some of the leading AI-based innovations in the country, recognize their efforts but to motivate the larger ecosystem to take advantage of this opportunity to help India become a global powerhouse in AI-led innovation NASSCOM president Debjani Ghosh said in a statement.
